About the Organizations Involved
Established in 1947, AABB is an international, not-for-profit association dedicated to the advancement of science and the practice of transfusion medicine and related biological therapies. The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) is a nonprofit organization that facilitates life-saving blood stem cell transplants for patients who do not have a donor in their family. NMDP provides the products and services that bring patients and donors together through life-saving technology and manages the world's largest registry of volunteer stem cell donors and cord blood units.
